Project Example from CKO: optimised Feeding of a Circuit Board

CKO realised an automation process for an automotive supplier in this mechanical engineering project. The circuit boards, which were previously removed manually from a large sheet metal container and placed in the separating device, were to be fed using existing welding robots and a specially developed gripper. The aim was to optimise work steps and minimise the risk of injury to employees from sharp-edged sheets.

Today, automation works in such a way that the robot takes stacks of sheets from the magazine container with a gripper and feeds them to a straightening station. Using powerful compressed air cylinders, the individual sheets of the sheet stack are first aligned with each other using lateral pressure impacts. The aligned stack of sheets is then lowered into the separating device via a lifting entry. The separating device then feeds the sheets individually to subsequent punching and bending presses for further processing.

  • maintenance-free low-voltage motor, low-maintenance modular drive and control units, shuttle and points are the only active components
